Langston proudly celebrated Black History Month with a powerful program highlighting student and staff collaboration.
This year’s theme, “A Centennial of Black History Commemorations,” reminded us of the rich history, resilience, and achievements that continue to shape our community.
Our celebration included:
Lift Every Voice and Sing – Sang by Ms. Graves and Ms. Phillips
A Black History Month video
Student presentations, including “And Still I Rise” featuring an original poem by Sarah Nance and inspiring quotes
APAAS student participation
Divine 9 tribute, including a spotlight on A’ja Wilson
The History of Stepping & Jackie Stepping performance
A special 50th Anniversary GoGo Celebration honoring the sound rooted in Washington, D.C.
|Staff were also asked, “What does Black History Month mean to you?” The students credited a video
We are so proud of our students and staff for coming together to honor history, culture, excellence, and legacy.
