Attendance at Langston

• Email the school at  langston.attendance@apsva.us or
• Send in a note / Doctor note to school with an explanation immediately following the absence.
• Fill out 23/24 Sign in & Sign out Form.
• Students that are going to be absent for FIVE (5) or MORE DAYS MUST have approval from by the principal in order to be excused.  The student must be in good academic standing, and greater than 10 days absent will not be approved.

• Students arriving at school after 8:20 AM MUST SIGN IN at the Main Office to be marked present for the day with Ms. Butcher on the 3rd floor.
• Fill out 23/24 Sign in & Sign out Form.
• To excused tardy the following is needed: Doctors/clinic note, email, or voicemail left with the attendance line.

Leaving School Early:

• Students who are minors MUST have a parental / guardian note to leave school grounds before the specific time.
• Note Policy: Note should be presented to the Attendance secretary where the student will sign out. In order to ensure student safety, the Attendance Secretary may call a parent/guardian to verify that the student is approved to sign out. If the Attendance Secretary cannot reach a parent or guardian, they will seek approval from an administrator for the student to sign out.
• A student who leaves school without signing out will have an unexcused absence. There will be no exceptions to this procedure.
• Adult students MUST stop by the main office to out fill out 23/24 Sign in & Sign out Form.

• Attendance Secretary: monitors student attendance daily, coordinating with School Attendance Specialist and Administration to follow up with unexcused absences.
